Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a federal reimbursement program that allows school districts to offer lunch at no cost to students in eligible schools.

  • 55 schools will use the traditional free- and reduced-meals application for eligible students to receive free- or reduced-price lunches, and 86 schools will continue to provide lunch at no cost to all students under CEP.

  • All schools will serve breakfast at no cost to all students.

  • Students who attend a school that will require an application for free- or reduced-price lunch will be able to apply online and by paper form beginning July 20, 2020.

  • When Metro Schools are operating virtually, we are still required to follow eligibility rules for meal distribution to students.  It is important for all eligible families in non-CEP schools to apply for free- and reduced-price lunch.
