SCHEDULING GUIDELINES AND SAMPLE SCHEDULES

Overarching Goals of Scheduling:

  • Students receive a consistent, quality education, regardless of delivery model.

A minimum of 6.5 hours of high-quality learning each day.

Students are provided synchronous (scheduled) learning opportunities throughout the week for each course.

  • Schools and families are provided flexibility to continue learning through a combination of synchronous (scheduled) and asynchronous (self-paced) supports.

Scheduling Responsibilities

  • Each week, each teacher must provide scheduled learning opportunities for each of their classes via Microsoft Teams. The schedule should be consistent from week to week.

  • Scheduled learning opportunities should be recorded and posted in each class’s Schoology course for later reference.

To ensure no conflicting classes for students, scheduled learning opportunities should only be offered within the block of time the class would meet in an in-person setting.

Teachers will ensure services for students with disabilities and English learners are scheduled.

  • Teachers will include scheduled office hours for students to get one-on-one support.

  • Personalized Learning Time, including required interventions, must be provided.

elementary scheduling

  • Teachers will schedule learning opportunities for students in each of the following areas:

    • ELA

    • Math

    • Science

Social Students

Office Hours

  • Related Arts teachers should meet with each distinct group of students for 30 minutes/week.

  • The PreK Learning Schedule reflects how students would spend time during the school day.

  • In addition to equitable access to core content, students must receive EE intervention and services as outlined in their individual education programs (IEPs). EL students must receive daily EL services stated in their individual learning plans (ILPs).

  • Through the MTSS process, there are times in the day that students are scheduled for the supports that they need—academic and behavior.

  • If you suspect that your child has a disability, please contact your child’s principal, and the principal will walk you through the next steps of the MTSS PROCESS. The Child Find mandate, included in the IDEA, requires schools to seek out, identify, and evaluate all youth (ages 3–22) with disabilities.

EE Services and 504 Services

For each child with disabilities, we have developed a COVID-19 Continuous Learning Individualized Plan (CLIP). The CLIP identifies how MNPS will effectively implement the services and supports in your child's lEP or Section 504 Plan while in a virtual setting.

Special Education Teachers and related service providers are responsible for collaborating and developing the CLIP. Students, families, and general education teachers have input into developing the CLIP.

  • CLIPS require parent and general education input to the extent possible.

IEP and 504 Meetings

Annual IEP/504 meetings will convene virtually as scheduled or requested.

  • Special Education teachers are expected to function the same for a virtual setting as in-person.

Questions about the implementation of a student’s IEP/504, contact your child’s school principal, 504 coordinator or special education teacher via email.

In addition to equitable access to core content, students must receive EE intervention and services as outlined in their individual education programs (IEPs).
